The mentality of the Gailtaler is shaped by a centuries-old culture that is shaped by Roman, Slavic and Germanic influences. Not for otherwise there is a typical synonym "Lei loosn" about the Carinthian, which simply means that the Carinthian mentality is much more comfortable than that in the northern Alps. This is reflected in the "Kärntner" and especially the "Gailtaler" in its way of eating and celebrating.

Our celebrations are of course always inseparable from good food. Whether at the schnitzel festival, rib feast or while smoking trout. Enjoyment for body and soul is not just a tradition but our daily way of life.
